Staten Island Pet Adoption Agencies and Rescue Organizations

All of the agencies below are part of the Mayor's Alliance for New York City's Animals (www.animalalliancenyc.org.) If you've adopted an animal from any of these organizations, volunteer at any of these organizations or just want to give a "shout out" to them, please tell us your story by emailing us at newyorktails@aol.com or sending it to New York Tails/Staten Island Tails, P.O. Box 287414, New York, NY 10128-0024.

An important reminder-adopting a pet is a big decision, and so is surrendering one. Many of the agencies listed below are, unfortunately, often filled to capacity and there are times they simply do not have any space to take more surrendered pets.

But all of the agencies below, however, can always use your help-and there are lots of ways to help! Volunteering your time on adoption days, providing a temporary foster home for a pet waiting for placement, donations of towels and other gently-used household items-all always welcome! (And, for those who are able to donate money, donations are usually are tax-deductible.
